Wyvern Academy create poppy display for the fallen
Handmade poppies created by Darlington students have been brought together to form a powerful Remembrance display within an academy.
Wyvern Academy students made the poppies during after-school Remembrance activities, with this year’s creations combined into one large display.
The artwork is a tribute to those who served and a visual reminder of the importance of commemoration.
Sam Cass, art teacher at Wyvern Academy, said: "Another wonderful display at Wyvern Academy to remember the fallen.
"The creativity and thoughtfulness of our pupils, who are so talented, truly bring the significance of Remembrance Day to life."
The academy praised its pupils for their "skill, creativity, and thoughtful contributions" to the project.
"The display not only highlights the pupils’ artistic talents but also their deep understanding of the importance of remembering those who gave their lives for others.
"We are proud to be part of Consilium Academies, where values of respect, reflection, and community are at the heart of everything we do."
