History
The aim of Wyvern’s History department is to ignite a passion for the past and allow our students to have an understanding and knowledge of Historical circumstances, events and people.
Wyvern’s History Curriculum plays an important role in equipping students to deal with and question the ever-changing modern world. Within all Key Stages of the History Curriculum, it allows for exploration, reflection and questioning as well as the appreciation of different views and cultures of others and helps students to respond positively to a rapidly changing world.
History aids students’ understanding of the increasingly varied cultures in which they live; develops critical and analytical skills, which prepares them for the social and economic aspects of their future lives and the challenges of the real world ahead.
They will use primary and secondary sources and different interpretations of the past to gain knowledge to confidently question and critically analyse events.
