Student Leadership
Our student leadership opportunities can be seen below:
Prefects (Y11)
Being a Prefect includes representing Wyvern at school events (including assemblies), being a role model within the school community and having the responsibility of a duty within the school day. Head Boy & Head Girl, along with the deputy and senior roles, will be selected as part of this process. This is an application role, starting with a letter of intention then an interview.
House Captains (All year groups)
The House Captain role will include coordinating tutor participation at House Competitions, representing student voice at scheduled meetings and taking an active role in whole school charitable events. This is a voluntary role to be decided by nomination (by a tutor a peer or a student them self) followed by a ballot within each tutor group (if there are multiple students interested in representing).
Student Council (All year groups)
The Student Council is formed from students stating their interest in the role and explaining what priorities they would like to focus on during the academic year. This can be a school, local or national project. The Student Council role includes attending and participating in regular meetings, working independently to achieve the council aims and supporting the school vision and values.
Wyvern Ambassadors (KS4)
A Wyvern Ambassador leadership role is awarded following a student volunteering with PTA events and other after school events and or daily duties during KS3.
